SteP into Mammoth VilLagE

For those who have no idea where or what Yellowstone is, here's a short intro:
Yellowstone lies between the state of Montana and Wyoming. It's 3 times bigger than Singapore. It's a National Park and has 5 villages. The whole park is in fact a huge active volacano (cool rite?). and here's a map of it:
Oh, there a few entrances to Yellowstone National Park (YNP). Mammoth village is actually the village that has a small town nearest to it. That is, Gardiner. It's about a 15mins drive down from Mammoth to Gardiner. But it takes almost 2hrs to hike down there. Going down is probably still fine. but coming up. hoho. good luck. it's a pretty steep climb man. but i haven tried it so far. i'd normally rather hitch a ride. And the locals are usually quite ok about hitch hikers. however, it really depends on your luck. you might juz meet a lot of unfriendly peeps...

anyway, back to when we 1st got to Mammoth, had to settle all e admin stuff. but juz as we were waiting for housing to be allocated, we spotted this:
haha... so cute. they can run really fast. heh... but after a while, you realize that they are everywhere. juz like the many elks and buffalos around. and they are pests. why? that's for another time. i'll have an entry on all the wildlife i saw here. =)

this is what you will see from the road. the yellow-white looking thing in the background is a hot spring. at the hot spring area, there a boardwalks for you to go aroung and look at the hot spring.

a close up of the yellow-white piece of rock shown above. the white stuff is actually some calcium stuff precipitated from the water. and dun think that it looks all so nice nice. you should be there to smell it. see all the yellow-brown stuff? that's sulfur. go smell some rotten eggs when you are looking at these photos. it'll second to as good as being there. =P

these are all photos of what i saw on the 1st day here. the yellow-white stone thing, is the only 'attraction' that is within walking distance. the other stuff gotta wait til you can get a car ride. sadz hoh...?

then finally, for this day, we had pizza for dinner. din know they stop serving dinner at 6.30pm. so early lo... alwaz getting hungry here at night. and getting fat. ok, this is a story for another time. shall have another entry purely and fully on me getting so fat, and fat, and FAT. anyway, here's a nice photo. cowgal! haha... i dunno wat's the thing about cowboy hats, but all the sporeans get so excited seeing one. so basically, there was this one hat that a wrangler (a guy who's working with horses) had. and all of us took a photo with it.

got cowgal sei ma? heh...

yeah!! i'm finally done with uploading one folder. haha... i organize my photos according to the date i upload them into my laptop. well, this is the end of the 1st folder of photos. marked 8th may. (diaoz.)
