Quick update!

so sleepy now... who said 'sleepless in seattle'?

this is juz a quick note. i'm definitely too tired to be bothered with loading any pics now. haha... i sound so hostile huh...

well... i've been walking around seattle for the past 2 days. and had a 16hr ride on the greyhound b4 that. that kinda explains y i'm tired ba. i need to find a nice pillow soon to prepare myself for a 24hr ride on the greyhound on the 31st of july. -_-"

seattle is pretty! i like this city. =D had lots of photos taken and having lots of fun with effie! i'll fill u guys in the next time i get a chance to. for now, i'll be busy spending my time touring around and taking in the sights and sounds. and also, juz to let u guys know, i might not be able to do much updates on my blog for now. so pls be patient. take some time off before visiting me again ba! =)

Summer Flings?

hmm.. seems like my 'photo' blog now is gonna turn into a philosophical wordy blog. *so sad.. cannot upload pics...*

been having these thots for a while. wat's the take of asians on summer flings now? it seems to me like people are more accepting of them now. so wat's the meaning of a relationship? *wonder wonder* tell me abt it!

well folks, i have no idea why blogger doesn't allow me to upload any more photos into the previous entry any more. been trying for 3 days now. not a single photo can get up. sighz.... let's wait for a few days and see if it gets better. or someone out there: PLS enlightened me on the error msg and give me a SOLUTION!!! for now, the blog will juz be boring words, if any.... *boo boo boo*

hmm... wanna give u guys more current updates. so let's continue from the day after Beartooth outing. rem i said we are going to scale Avalanche Peak? here's it... =)

And chipmunks too. A family of them at the peak. horrible... they are pests. one bit my finger. and they kept running to our backpacks trying to find food while we are sleeping. *pui*

Got cheated the 3rd time. it's like, u see the highest point while climbing, then climb climb climb, until u think it's the peak, there's another peak behind it. that's how i got cheated 3 times. *diaoz...*

Sat around for some time, to take in the sights and also for lunch. Most of us actually fell asleep there. =P

Had so much fun! was running all the way downhill. I like the feeling. like riding a bike downhill. Fun fun fun! Leah said i'm the fastest downhill hiker. haha....

Random Thoughts and Feelings while Climbing...

I was never really an outdoor person before Yellowstone. When I 1st heard from Lynette that the thing u do most of the time in Yellowstone is act hiking, i was like: err... oh no... But now, I find it a joy. really. so fun! enjoying myself at all these hikes. well, i'll never forget the hike i did at Osprey Falls. that was really damn xiong and my body was still weak from all the rotting and non-excersising in singapore. i almost died at Osprey man...

But as time passes, i realized that being able to scale a peak gives a real sense of achievment. During the time spent scaling peaks or walking to waterfalls, i get philosophies abt life. It also gives u time to think about things. While i was climbing Avalanche, I felt that every step i took was painstaking. But it brings me closer to my goal. Hiking is always a test of perserverance for me. A test of my own ability and strength. Also, I felt that everyone will get to the top eventually. It's just a matter of time. Getting to the top is the goal, but it's important not to neglect the journey up too. Sometimes along the way, u'll need help from people around you. And other times, you might juz have urself to depend on, to get over the obstacle. At the top, the view is amazing. that's called, the bird's eye view. But becos u are too high, you might miss out the details at the bottom. =)

On the way back, we past by the General Store around Lake Village.

Also on the way back, i asked Leah to stop by the Lower Falls trail at Canyon Village. Really wanted to go there before i leave Yellowstone. Thank you Leah!!!! it was a fantastic view of the waterfall there. No regrets now... *satisfied* =D

aiyah... i already finished looking thru my album, but Blogger has probs uploading my photos. sigh... *why lidat?* gotta upload them the next time. sianz...... 2nd day trying still got probs. only managed to upload a few pics. blogger keeps giving me error msg. hiakz...

hmm.... so many of the 1st batch of singaporeans here in Yellowstone Mammoth had left. i'm like the 2nd last to leave here le. not many people left back here. but recently, i felt the concern from all those left behind (people whom i wasn't really hanging out with initially) and those new batch who juz came less than a mth ago. touched... =)

they'll ask me to join them for stuff or like ask me to come over to their rooms. sweet... so nice... haha... thank you peeps. appreciated! *from the bottom of my heart* =D

haha... so in the mood to update my blog today. juz got off work. and have no idea where to go. i wanna do a hike, but stupid Justin, dunno if he's to be found. seems like it'll be another day of lazing in my room again. =P so, let's check out wat i have in my pictures dated 21st may folder!

oh... this is the day when Justin drove us to Old Faithful. I think it was my 1st time visiting that place. it was supposed to be abt an hour and a half journey. but along the way, we were stuck in a jam for 45mins! Yellowstone got traffic jam? *like wat the hell....* then i realized that the only way Yellowstone Park will get a jam is when some stupid bisons are standing in the middle of the road for the whole day thinking whether to cross the road. zzzzzz.....

that is the famous geyser, Old Faithful. it's no longer as faithful le. used to erupt every hour last time. now, it erupts every 90 mins and not on the dot of the predicted time but plus minus 10mins of it.

Ice cream for a really cold day...

On the day that we made this trip, the sky was cloudy and gloomy lo. and the weather was so so super cold. the kind where u can wear thick winter jackets. but i was only wearing this thin adidas jacket. hopelessly cold and shivering... such that i refused to remove my hands from my pockets to take photos. and this explains the lack of photos... *geez*

On the way back from Old Faithful, we passed by the Grand Prismatic Spring. It's the largest hot spring in Yellowstone. and really really pretty. there is a series of short board walks you can take to check out the natural geysers and pools they have there. at first, i refused to get off the car juz to walk there. cos it's simply too cold for comfort. but it was a worth it walk. juz that i was too cold to really enjoy it. Grand Prismatic is a place i wanna re-visit before i leave Yellowstone. Must! Here are the pictures from Grand Prismatic...

As i had said, it was a really cold day. this being a hot spring, there was a lot of fog. i couldn't even see my fingers in front of me. so all the pictures are kinda misty... that's y MUZ go back there again b4 i leave here!

this is for Bee Bee. u were looking for a pullover jacket b4 i left rite? n i told ya abt it when i saw this in Ross. u know, when i got back from the shopping trip in Bozeman, i was asking KT if i shld buy this for u. then she said u'll definitely like it de lo. so? like it? u better... *threaten* the jacket is so thick lo. i'm still thinking how to squeeze it into my luggage to bring back ah...

this pair of earrings oso for u. u like de skull. gal version one somemore. wanted to send it back to sg in an envelope for u. together with postcards. but i ahven written any one of them til now. =P

this bag, from Walmart. guess how much? haha... only 2 bucks. but i think i kinda told everyone here abt it le. and now, all the sg and prob the taiwan gals oso have it.

this baseball jersey is for Mingke. i know u wanted this like long long time ago le. finally got it for u. and i happen to chance upont he exact same one that u showed me online. good ba? plus, it's within ur budget, cos it's kids size. at least kids size u can wear lo. the adult ones are all huge. i think they can fit two of u into them.

Finally, i took a photo of the cute little bear! haven thot of a name for him/ her. any ideas? this cute little bear is a gift from Betty and Jeff before they left. so sweet!!!! and they act hid it int he rm for me to look for it. and i act took a pretty pretty long time to find it. sighz... was in suspense for so long and they refused to give me any clues to the hidden location. but anyway, i still eventually got it. =) it's now a resident of my bed. new fren to my stitch. and me n betty's no. 3 fan! haha... hmm.... so nice that i was hugging it to sleep last nite. =D
